Just Helpers – Terms & Conditions

This page is a simplified summary of our Client and Cleaner Contract and is provided for guidance only.
It is not a legally binding agreement. In the event of any conflict, the full Client and Cleaner Contract takes precedence.

1. Parties and Relationship

Just Helpers Limited (“the Agent”) introduces independent, self-employed cleaning
Service Providers (“Helpers”) to Clients. The Client enters into a direct Service
Agreement with the Helper, while Just Helpers manages scheduling, invoicing, and other
administration associated with the service.

2. Service Start, Duration & Notice

Services begin on the agreed Start Date and continue until ended by either party with
one month’s written notice.

3. Service Standards

Helpers will carry out cleaning services with reasonable care and skill.

The Client agrees to:

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the property;
  • Provide any necessary information about the property and cleaning requirements; and
  • Provide suitable and safe cleaning materials and equipment, unless otherwise agreed.

4. Fees & Payment

  • Fees are invoiced monthly in advance by Just Helpers.
  • Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date (unless paid by Direct Debit).
  • Fees cover 52 weeks of service, including cover cleaning when your regular Helper
    is unavailable (for example, due to holiday or sickness), subject to reasonable notice and availability.
  • Refunds are only applicable where Just Helpers is unable to provide the agreed cover for pre-paid sessions.

5. Late Payment

If the Client fails to make any payment by the due date, Just Helpers may charge interest and
associated fees under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. This includes:

  • Statutory interest: 8% above the Bank of England base rate;
  • Fixed compensation:
    • £40 for debts less than £1,000;
    • £70 for debts between £1,000 and £10,000; and
    • £100 for debts above £10,000.
  • Recovery of reasonable debt collection costs in addition to the above fixed fees.

6. Liability & Insurance

The Service Provider’s (Helper’s) total liability to the Client in respect of damage
or loss is limited to the £250 insurance excess.

Thereafter, Just Helpers will be liable for additional proven costs directly connected to the
Service Provider’s actions, by way of an insurance claim made through Just Helpers’
insurance.

To make a damage claim, the Client must:

  • Report the damage to Just Helpers within 24 hours of discovering it; and
  • Provide clear photo and/or video evidence of the damage.

7. Client Obligations

The Client agrees to:

  • Act in good faith and treat Helpers and Just Helpers staff with respect;
  • Provide a safe and healthy working environment for the Helper; and
  • Not privately engage, employ, or contract directly with any Helper introduced by Just Helpers,
    whether during the period of engagement or for a reasonable period after it ends, as set out
    in the full Client and Cleaner Contract.

8. Data Protection

Both the Client and Just Helpers agree to comply with applicable data protection laws,
including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

9. Termination for Breach

Just Helpers may terminate services with immediate effect in the event of:

  • A material breach of these Terms or the full Client and Cleaner Contract; or
  • Non-payment or persistent late payment by the Client.

The Client may also terminate with immediate effect in the event of a material breach by Just
Helpers, as set out in the full Client and Cleaner Contract.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising
out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the
courts of England and Wales.
